What We Do—

Free Store

What is a Free Store?

At Common Ground Free Store, everything is free - clothing, shoes, linens, household items, books, toys, coffee and meals. No income requirements, no questions, and no scrutiny, only the support of folks who care. Common Ground offers a sense of community and a safe, warm, and welcoming space for anyone regardless of circumstances. Open five days a week at 193 East Central Avenue in Delaware, Ohio, Common Ground is a community-based nonprofit engaging churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals in sharing what they have with others.

Why is a Free Store Important?

In Delaware County, there is enough to go around, but, still, many individuals and families struggle to make ends meet. More than 11% of folks in Delaware County - about 24,000 people - live below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. By sharing free clothing, shoes, diapers, housewares, linens, toiletries, and meals, Common Ground Free Store helps take some of the burden off, so the savings can pay for housing, food, utilities, childcare, transportation, and health services.
