Donate New or Good Used Items for the Free Store
The Free Store is stocked with items donated by folks in the community, like you. If you'd wear it, use it, or wish it on a friend - and if its no bigger than a microwave - drop it off, and we'll share with your neighbors who need it. There are some limits though, so please check the FAQ's below before dropping off your stuff.
What are your donations hours?
Our donation hours are:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - 10am-1pm, 6-8:30pm
Wednesday, Saturday - 10am-1pm
What items do you take?
We accept donations of clothes, shoes, linens, household items, toys, toiletries and other personal care products, and diapers.
What items don’t you accept?
We do not accept:
• Opened or used bottles, tubes, or jars of any kind. This is a potential safety and contamination issue.
• Televisions, furniture, or appliances. However, we do accept small appliances, such as toasters, microwaves, and coffee makers (anything that fits on a shelf).
• Safety-rated items, like cribs, strollers, car seats, and other equipment
• Previously worn underwear
• Sleeping pillows or mattresses
When do you change clothing seasons?
We only stock clothes for the current season in the store, so watch for a sustained shift in the weather before bringing clothes for the next season. We also announce the season change on our website and Facebook page.
When I donate hanging clothes, can I leave them on their hangers?
Imagine managing thousands of hangers, all of different types and sizes. In a closet they are indispensable, but they present a real challenge for us, both in terms of disposal and volunteer time. So, please remove the hangers from your clothing before you donate them.
What is your greatest donation need right now?
Our needs are pretty consistent. Most needed items are always brand new socks, underwear, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, razors, toilet paper, and size 5 and 6 diapers.
