Every time we are open, we need 15-20 volunteers. Last year, we operated the store and donation center with a total of 4,429 volunteers! This number doesn’t include special events or separate work days. In January and February alone we’ve already utilized almost 800 volunteers! Over the course of a year, volunteers save us at least $650,000! In other words, we couldn’t exist without the amazing support of our volunteers!!
Not only do our volunteers freely give of their time to make a significant impact on our shoppers’ lives, but serving others has a positive effect on the person serving. We’ve had volunteers say they’ve made new friends, bolstered their social life, and eased their anxieties by volunteering at Common Ground and being in the position of helping others!
